“Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” — Ephesians 6:11
There is nothing we lack in order to experience a successful life of prayer. God has given us all that we need in Christ. We have God’s armor, the Bible, His Name, and all of Heaven backing us.
It is up to us to adhere to the instructions we find in the scripture above. We are to gird our loins with God’s truth. We are to put on His breastplate of righteousness which is right standing with Him through Christ. We are to have our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. We are to take up the shield of faith in every situation we face. We are to put on the helmet of salvation knowing why we are saved and we are to take up the sword of the spirit in battle which is the Word of God.
The great thing about God is that He watches over His Word to perform it in our lives. This means that the armor of God spoken of in Ephesians will work every time because it is backed by God Himself.
That’s God’s part and our part is to put that armor on by faith, every single day. When we do this, His power becomes our power. Our part really does come down to standing on God’s promises and having complete confidence in God’s power to bring the victory.
The Armor That Comes With Praying
There is no devil in hell that can stand against us when we are wearing the armor of God and praying according to the Word of God. The enemy knows this and he will try and hinder us from praying. If the devil can stop faithful prayer then he knows that he can stop the plan of God.
Some ask why the devil even has power. The reason is because Adam gave it to him back in the garden of Eden when he and Eve sinned. It was at that point that the devil became the god of this world.
The reason Jesus was sent from Heaven to earth was the thwart the devil’s plan. Jesus took back the authority and power and placed it into the hands of the Christian. When we pray it allows for God to establish His plans here on earth. Prayer brings the Lord onto the scene of situations we are praying for. This is why Christian prayer is so important.
What has been hindering prayer all these years is that it is not in alignment with God’s Word. We must pray correctly for God to move. That starts with praying to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus.
It’s Time To Pray With All Kinds Of Prayer
“Pray at all times on every occasion, and every season in the spirit, with all manner of prayer and intriguing…” — Ephesians 6:18
What we will come to discover in the Bible is that there are 3 kinds of prayers for the Born Again Christian. There is the prayer that changes things, the prayer of praise and thanks, and the prayer for worship and dedication.
We can then divide those groups in smaller groups. In terms of the prayer that changes things there are 4 categories. There is the prayer of agreement, the prayer binding and loosing, the prayer of petition and supplication, and one of the most popular, the prayer of intercession.
It is very important to understand that the prayer that changes things is not a prayer that changes God. God does not change. It is clear in Scripture that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He has set in place is there to stay.
That is why it is key to find scripture about what you want to pray for. When you pray in alignment with His Word, He watches over it to perform it. This brings confidence when you pray and use your faith.
God loves you. He wants the best for you. God is for you and not against you. Following God’s guidance when it comes to prayer is vital. It works when you work it. As a child of God, you can access Heaven and bring God’s power into situations you have on your heart.
Yes, there is confidence available to you when you pray. You don’t have to wonder if God will do anything. He has promised He will. God has given you everything you need to overcome.
Look at Bible verses about prayer and believe them. Realize more and more that the Lord’s supernatural power is available to you when you pray. No matter what you are facing, prayer can see you through!
